About Us

Prisoners for Palestine is a prisoner-led collective in the UK representing all those detained under charges related to Palestinian liberation.

We coordinate with activists, organisers and supporters to continue resistance from both sides of the prison walls. With our solidarity, we combat the isolation and hopelessness that the prison system attempts to impose on prisoners.

There are currently at least 33 people in the UK illegally detained by the British state for their actions against genocide, and this number may increase as the state implements ever more draconian measures against protest. These measures include the calculated use of counter-terrorism legislation in an attempt to silence legitimate dissent, which has been widely condemned by lawyers, human rights experts and international organisations alike.

This is an open call for the free people of the world to overcome the indignity of feeling helpless. To know that even those who have experienced the brutality of counter-terrorism policing, refuse to be passive in the ongoing genocide. And to reaffirm that the abolition of prisons is predicated upon the liberation of Palestine.

What we do

We organise mobilisations, political education and urgent campaigns that amplify the demands of prisoners and ex-prisoners. We work to sustain an international network to accompany them and facilitate their struggle for freedoms. We also work with those who may be facing prison sentences in the near future as a result of their actions for Palestinian liberation.

Shut Elbit Down

To the free people of the world, Prisoners for Palestine say shut Elbit down

Elbit Systems is Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer. Producing 85% of Israel’s drones fleet and land-based military equipment. They consider themselves to be ‘the central operating system’ of the IOF.

Many comrades now sitting in prison cells are there because they took necessary action to disrupt Elbit’s supply chain. The movement to shut Elbit down is a global effort, led by ordinary people who refuse to be complicit in the war machine and who reject the idea that the business of war can continue, un-challenged, on our doorsteps. Our responsibility is clear: to interrupt, dismantle, and end this business of death.

A message from Palestinian prisoners

From behind occupation bars, Palestinian prisoners send this message to the supporters of the Palestinian people and the forces of liberation and solidarity around the world:

“Our liberation struggle was and remains an integral part of the international struggle against the forces of colonialism, imperialism, Zionism and reaction. Accordingly, we salute all political prisoners in the world, the struggle of the Black liberation movement in America, the struggle of the Indigenous peoples for self-determination and liberation, and all liberation forces in the world, and we call for strengthening the relationship between these movements and all Palestinian communities in exile and diaspora.

We follow your efforts with pride, and we highly appreciate your support for the prisoners in the occupation prisons, especially the campaign of solidarity with the child prisoners, the administrative detainees and the campaigns of solidarity with sick and ill prisoners and hunger strikers, and with our valiant women prisoners in the prisons of the occupation. We value your principled position in supporting the struggle of the Palestinian prisoners’ movement for liberation, as it stands on the front lines confronting Zionist colonialism and its racist settler regime.

Our freedom as prisoners in Palestine will inevitably come with the liberation of all of our people. We will defeat the prisons with the end of Zionist colonisation in Palestine.

Long live international solidarity with the Palestinian people – victory to the struggling peoples!”
